  “El Camino" project meets four aspects that are vital to us: love for animals, nature, love of walking and the dream for once to make the pilgrimage to Santiago.

We are looking for people who care for animal protection, eager to go hiking, meeting the necessary conditions, have at least a week off, having an adventurous spirit, and who want to enjoy a unique experience with other people and animals.

The time of participation varies from one to six weeks. This pilgrimage for the animal rights also offers enjoy a unique and wonderful vacation week, where you can meet new people around the world and be part of one of the major initiatives for a change, for a new consciousness, for a better world.

Planet Animal arranges accommodation, meals, transportation of baggage, etc., in exchange for the contribution to costs.  Requirements for volunteers / hikers:

   

  1. During the pilgrimage, all participants will be volunteers cooperating with Planet Animal.
  2. Volunteers must be over 18 years.
  3. Must be in good physical conditions and be able to make runs an average of 24 miles per day, at an average speed of 4 km / hour.
  4. You cannot have any problem walking with animals, and be prepared to deal responsibly and affectionate. We also allow a limited amount of own dogs, ask if there are still places in their group.
  5. The main purpose of this pilgrimage is to creat awareness and animal protection. Along the way we will visit schools and hold press conferences and meetings with other associations. This could mean added inconvenience to the pilgrims, who may prefer to rest after the fatigue of the travel, instead of going, for example to a conference. For this reason, flexibility and cooperation are absolutely necessary.
  6. Our guide and the director of the group are responsable for animals and walkers, and all pilgrims must follow their instructions.
  7. The pilgrims should be at the hostel the evening before the start of the pilgrimage.
  8. We recommend having a confirmed flight prior to the registration.
  9. Adventurer spirit. You must not forget that what we are organizing a charity pilgrimage, not a luxury trip. Pilgrims must be flexible regarding to the accommodation and the weather. We begin our pilgrimage in spring, so rainy days will be very likely. The shelters will be chosen based on availability. We will sleep mainly in pilgrim hostels.
  10. You must be able to work as part of a team, respect all members of the group and show respect for animals and the countryside.
  11. Failure of the points listed above, which form the basis of this pilgrimage, can lead to dismissal from the volunteer. In case of expulsion, Planet Animal will not be responsible for reimbursing the costs.
  12. The contribution to the cost is 420 € per week. For two or more weeks there will be a discount of 10%. Included are accommodations, breakfast, lunch (luch packet) and dinner at the camp (who preferes to go to a restaurant pays his own), water, insurance, guide for the journey, luggage transport. The costs are calculated on the total amount of the expenses of the organization, that are not just the costs of accommodation and food, also additional costs such as accompanying vehicles, and room and board for mates, food and animal care etc.
  13. Method of payment: You will give a deposit of 50% (per pilgrim) at the time of registration and the remainder by 15 February 2011. Payments can be made by electronic transfer or payment through Pay-pal. No payment will be accepted at the time of arrival of the volunteer. Planet Animal assumes no obligation regarding devolutions.
  14. The transportation to the place at the beginning and at the end of the pilgrimage is not included. Planet Animal is responsible only for the transport to and from the local bus stops.
  15. Sponsors: Each volunteer must find sponsors for the pilgrimage as many as possible. You can find the forms on our website, or receive them by mail when you send your confirmation of participation.
  16. All pilgrims / volunteers are responsible for their health, their safety and their own welfare, and they confirm that they have understood and accepted the conditions described above. All volunteers are agreeing to sign a waiver and provide a contact address in case of accident before the start of the pilgrimage.
